TACGLOW was officially started in 2023, but the idea to create Glow in the Dark lighting options that can reliably stand up to use in the most austere environments started many years earlier. We are a proud sponsor of GWOT.org.

With numerous U.S. Military deployments including in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), then transitioning to a civilian Firefighter and EMT after his retirement from the U.S. Army, the founder of TACGLOW always hoped that he could come up with a low cost, reliable, battery-free lighting option that will last so long it will probably get lost before it has reached its end of life.

After many months of research and testing of rare earth materials from all over the world, TACGLOW finally felt that it had accomplished what it set out to do. We started to create items using our proprietary mixtures of phosphors sourced around the globe and gave them to friends and coworkers to test. The reviews were positive and we kept moving forward, producing a base line of lighting options, one of which is the first custom order we had and now refer to internally as the OG (Original Glow). The OG is about 3/8 in diameter and about 2 inches long and has a clip attached to it with paracord. While the original only had one specific requirement for a glow color, we have expanded the color options and now carry the OG as a standard item in our shop.
